A Hope's Peak Academy Reserve Course Student and a good friend of Mahiru Koizumi. She is a key subject in the Twilight Syndrome Murder Case featured in _Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair_ and later in _Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School - Despair Arc_.
Satou was friends with Mahiru Koizumi in middle school. There, they were part of of the photography club along with Natsumi Kuzuryuu. When Mahiru attended Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Photographer, Sato followed her there by joining the Reserve Course. Satou was a heavily possessive and defensive person who would do anything to protect her friends, especially Mahiru, from being hurt. She had a tendency to act like a leader with her friends, and she was very decisive and unwavering in her thoughts. She also appeared to have a short temper.
~!Satou murdered Natsumi to protect Mahiru, as Satou was convinced she was going to kill Mahiru. After Satou commited the crime, she became unhinged and set up the death to appear like it was caused by a pervert who broke into the school. She denied she ever did this, however, attempting to convince herself and others of this. Soon afterwards, Satou was murdered in revenge by Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu, Natsumi's brother, by being hit over the head with a metal bat.!~
