A former student of Class 76th at Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Pharmacist (超高校級の薬剤師 lit. Super High School Level Pharmacist). She is a member of the Future Foundation as the Branch Office 4 Director, responsible for the research and development of new medical techniques. She, along with the other directors, is forced to participate in the Final Killing Game.
Seiko has a reserved personality and a stilted way of speaking. Because she's conscious of how easy it it for people to guess what she's thinking through her facial expressions, she hides her face behind a mask. She's startled easily, often anxious, and has a very soft-hearted nature, being very loyal and forgiving towards people who are kind to her. In high school, Seiko often took requests from other students. She also loves animals, making concoctions specially for helping them. She's very meticulous when dealing with medicine.
As a pharmacist, Seiko has an extensive knowledge of medicine and drugs. She can create just about any kind, ranging from common ones like laxatives and cold medication to more ludicrous ones like strength enhancers that drastically change one's physical appearence. Seiko drew much attention within the pharmaceutical industry, as she had found new uses for pre-existing medicine. Vying for her talent, many companies reached out to her, but she only accepted minimum help with her research.
~!During their practical exam in their second year, an incident involving Nagito Komaeda's plot to stop the exam caused Seiko's super-laxative drug to be mixed into Ruruka's pastry instead of a strength drug. This, combined with Seiko unfortunately receiving Nagito's bomb switch (which was later triggered, resulting in an explosion), resulted in Seiko, Ruruka, and Sonosuke being expelled from Hope's Peak Academy. Seiko and Ruruka both felt betrayed by one another in some way, placing the blame of expulsion upon each other, causing a rift in their friendship.
After being expelled, Seiko was implied to have been homeless and without a place to go when Kyosuke, Chisa, and Juzo Sakakura stepped in to offer her help.!~
~!During the Final Killing Game, Seiko was brainwashed into killing herself. She is seen slamming herself against the wall over and over again, breaking the wall and causing the water to leak into the building, and is later shown hung up on a damaged wall with a knife stabbed into her heart.!~
~!It is later discovered that during the Final Killing Game, Seiko had developed an antagonist called Cure W to counteract the effects of the bracelet's poison. Kyoko had discovered this after Seiko's death and took the medicine before her NG code was triggered by Makoto surviving past the fourth time limit, saving her life.!~
